About Ghost

Ghost: a fast publishing platform with a modern editor, themes, newsletters and paid memberships. Ships with its own private MySQL 8 database; content and themes live on a persistent volume.

What you get

  • Own database included — A private MySQL 8 runs next to Ghost, not reachable from outside the app
  • Persistent content — Images, themes and the database live on volumes that survive redeploys
  • Ready for your domain — Configured for the app address; add a custom domain under Settings › Domains and redeploy

What runs

Ghost is more than one container. Each becomes an app of its own inside a collection, with its own resources, logs and settings - billed together as one.

  • db
  • ghost

Storage that survives a restart

Ghost is deployed with 2 persistent volumes. They keep their contents across restarts, redeploys and resource changes, and can be resized later.

  • db_data — 5 GB — Database files
  • ghost_content — 5 GB — Images, themes and uploads

How deployment works

  1. Click Deploy Ghost and sign in to your Nexent Cloud workspace (or create one - it takes a minute).
  2. Name the app and adjust CPU, memory and storage if the defaults don't fit; the price updates as you go.
  3. Nexent provisions the containers, their persistent volumes and a *.nexentcloud.com address with TLS. Add your own domain afterwards from the app's settings.

Good to know

  • Open /ghost on this app's address to create the owner account and set up the site.

Questions about Ghost hosting

How much does hosting Ghost cost?

$6.54 a month, or $65.36 a year. That covers 1 vCPU, 1.5 GB of memory, 10 GB of persistent storage and 200 GB of bandwidth, with TLS and an address included. Resources can be changed afterwards and the price follows them.

How long does it take to deploy Ghost?

About 3 min. Nexent Cloud pulls the image, attaches the storage it needs and issues a certificate for its address; you do not configure a server, a reverse proxy or a certificate renewal.

Can I use my own domain?

Yes. Every app gets an address on nexentcloud.com with TLS immediately, and you can point your own domain at it afterwards from the app’s settings - the certificate is issued and renewed for you.

Is my Ghost data kept when it restarts?

Yes. Ghost is deployed with 2 persistent volumes (db_data 5 GB, ghost_content 5 GB), which survive restarts, redeploys and resource changes.

Can I move away later?

It is standard Ghost, running in a container from the upstream image - not a fork and not a managed variant. Your data is on a volume you can back up and take with you.
